A friend once questioned, upon seeing my perusal of a recently acquired antiquarian volume, if I preferred these old books because of their age, or their content. I replied, “both”—explaining that while there exists many fine contemporary Christian writers, I feel a particular “kindredness” with my “Fathers of the Faith” who lived, preached, ministered and wrote long ago. It was a time unincumbered by the various distractions the world offers today. There existed a simplicity of life and devotion to the Lord that today’s Christian church is longing for and desperately needs. The old reformers, puritans, revivalists, and many who followed in their steps have been burdened by the Lord and blessed with the gifts to pen many great writings that have encouraged, blessed, taught, and tried God’s people for many centuries. Unfortunately, many of these works have not seen the pages of print for years, denying the modern Christian the blessings experienced by former generations of believers.

We, at Christian Family Publications, are committed to see these great works continue to feed the souls of humankind for many years to come. Our goal is to print books that stand the test of time physically as well as spiritually. These volumes will be published in order to deliver great Christian literature in an attractive, lasting and affordable form; emulating many high-quality productions of the past. These great works will be produced in two multi-volume libraries. One will be published, Christian Heritage Classics, comprising works from great authors such as Richard Baxter, George Whitefield, John Owen, Thomas Boston, John Wesley, Isaac Watts, and many others. The second library will be titled, Christian Family Library, and will include various works that deliver words to strengthen and improve personal and family piety. Such writers as Jonathan Edwards, Jacob Abbott, Rev. J. G. Pike, John Bunyan, Margaret Sangster, Richard Newton, Elizabeth Prentiss, and others will be featured.
